Who Is This For?
What Is the Timeframe?
Please take this test on day 19-22 of your cycle if cycling, or anytime if not cycling. Once the lab receives the test, it takes approximately two weeks to process. During the processing time, we will contact you to schedule a feedback appointment.
What If I'm Currently Taking Hormones?
If you use hormone replacement, you have two options:
- Discontinue hormones 1 week prior to the test (preferred, but not required)
- Continue hormone replacement and see how your body is responding to your current treatment,
What If I Don't Have a Cycle?
If you have a menstrual cycle, it’s ideal to test during the middle of the luteal phase (around days 19-22). However, many of us don’t have such predictable cycles, and the DUTCH can actually help point to the reasons why your cycle isn’t ideal. If cycles are consistently running longer than 28 days, we will help you adjust the day on which to collect samples. This is not for you if you are pregnant or nursing. Please consult your doctor before completing this test.
